What can I put into Aerobin?

Most organic waste can be put into Aerobin, ensuring a mix of green (wet) and brown (dry) materials. Green materials include clean kitchen waste, citrus and onions, vegetable peelings, lawn trimmings, and coffee grounds. Brown materials include dry leaves and twigs, wood chips, sawdust, and newspaper.

What should not go into Aerobin?

Oils, Meat, Fish, Dairy, Glossy magazines, Faeces.

How long will it take to produce compost?

Depending on the quantity and frequency of materials being loaded inside, a cycle should take 8-12WKS.

What can't go in the iCompost for now: Liquids, tissue papers, other biodegradable packaging, seashells, hard nut shells

What is leachate?

Leachate is a liquid that forms when water passes through compostable materials, dissolving and carrying away nutrients and organic matter. In the context of Aerobin, the leachate collector at the bottom captures this nutrient-rich liquid. This feature allows gardeners to easily collect and use the leachate, often referred to as compost tea, as a valuable, natural fertiliser for plants, providing them with a boost of essential nutrients and promoting healthy growth. We recommend diluting the leachate 1:20 with water.

How do I get the compost out?

Access panels are provided at the bottom of the bin on both sides. Lift the panel vertically, using the handle, to unlock it, then pull the unlocked panel outwards and away from the bin. When replacing the panel, take care to first push it in at the top, then downward firmly. A slight click will be felt as the panel locks, which prevents unwanted entry by pets or vermin.
